NZ Registered Occupational Therapist

Locations:  Hamilton and Lower Hutt, Wellington

Full time

Our aim is to enable independence.

We are a group of likeminded Occupational Therapists who are passionate about achieving the right solution to maximise independence for the people that we work with. Our speciality area is transport, looking at the impact of a condition on a person's ability to drive and what it takes to get back behind the wheel.

Our clients, like us, value being able to get out and about and we want to make a difference by enabling them to do just that. We understand the impact that having the right transport solution has on all aspects of everyday living, from being able to get to work to going out with friends for a coffee and we want to help achieve this.

Working for OTRS is working for a recognised leader providing specialised driving and transport assessments for a range of clients by bringing together clinical knowledge and life skills to derive the best solution for our clients.

About the role

As a Transport Assessor you will be required to draw on all your clinical skills to understand your client’s needs and arrive at a solution to minimise the impact of any challenges on their ability to access transport and be able to drive.

We work alongside the client as well as with a wider team of Driving Instructors, Vehicle Modifiers, and other health professionals to ensure that we arrive at the best solution to enable the client to achieve their goals.

There is no ‘typical’ client within transport and our client group extends from young children through to our older clients with varying medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

Alongside providing you with all the tools to undertake your role, we provide a structured career pathway within a supportive team environment as well as mentoring and supervision working alongside an experienced Occupational Therapist Transport Assessor.

Not only is this an opportunity to further your clinical skills but to develop within a specialist area and work towards becoming an accredited Transport Assessor.

Join our team and help make a practical difference maximising independence.
